ThreeShinglesI still think Twitter is creepy. But I’m enjoying it a bit more.
In my world, something like Twitter is both a blessing and curse. The Old School wants to dismiss it as a passing fad. The New School wants to embrace it. Promote it. Make it essential.
I’m still not sure. Here’s what I know.
1. I like having real (or imagined) access to some of my celebrity heroes.
2. The New School, is definitley using it as a place to network, find and create opportunity, develop skills , and extend influence.
3. There are a lot – a lot – of Twitter exploiters out there. Fully 25% of my followers are beyond annoying.
4. If you want people to thik you have a snake oil for their marketing communications ills, you better be able to demonstrate a Twitter expertise.
5. Alex Blagg is really funny.
So, I’m still sorting it out. Trying to maintain my commitment to the Old School but refusing to ignore the New School. I’m following a handful of folks. Being followed a bit. Planning to use Twitter to promote and execute an upcoming event. Time will tell if it’s a passing fad. But for now, I’m enjoying it.
Still creepy though.
